Our self-guided Cornwall cycling tour is ideal for those who want to get away from the crowds and back to nature, becoming immersed in the Cornish countryside and coast. Our carefully chosen cycle routes contain off road tracks and converted rail to trail paths, so you can bike at a leisurely pace without distractions and with stunning views around every corner. Visit all of the Cornish highlights on your bicycle, from the jewel of St Ives to the stunning St Michael’s Mount, Charlestown harbour, Penzance, Padstow and, of course, Land’s End.
We take all the hassle out of cycling by including all luggage transfers, booking and organising all accommodation, maps, Ride With GPS instructions, and recommending incredible iconic castles, estates, ancient sites and more to visit along the way. Rediscover the English countryside and coast by cycling on your own, as a couple or bringing your group of friends with you for a week on two wheels.
The tour starts at Bodmin Parkway Railway Station in the late morning. Bodmin is a direct and comfortable 4 hour journey from London. Our guides meet you at the station, help you with your luggage, set you up on your bike and orient you to the local area, answer any questions you may have and giving you all the equipment and navigational guidance you’ll need for a great week’s cycling. The beauty of this tour is that you cycle directly from the train station onto tracks and trails South towards the coast, with no unnecessary waiting around or transfers throughout the week. You’ll cycle directly through Llanhydrock National Trust Gardens, a magnificent late Victorian country house set within beautiful gardens and a wooded estate and a great place to stop for lunch. In the afternoon continue South towards Carlyon Bay and the gorgeous South Coast harbour at Charlestown where you stay for your first night.

In the afternoon cycle down the coast to St Anthony with panoramic views out over the sea from the headland. Catch the ferry before 5.15pm over to the pretty town of St Mawes where you stay this evening. As well as your hotel’s great food, there is a wealth of restaurants to choose from by the seafront for a relaxing dinner out.

In the morning, catch the King Harry Ferry across the Fal Estuary and ride along the intricate tramways of Cornwall’s tin mines, stopping for coffee or early lunch in Portreath at the seaside café and bike shop there. Head on to the jewel of Cornwall that is St Ives, best known for its spectacular light and as a haven for painters over the last few hundred years. Now home to the Tate St Ives, this seaside gem is truly magnificent. You can lunch or supper at one of the wonderful seafood cafes and have plenty of time to walk around the town and visit the many galleries, before settling into your hotel for the evening, the Gannet Inn.

Cycle from St Ives in a coastal loop around Land’s End, the most Westerly point of England and one of the world’s most famous landmarks. From the breath-taking 200ft high granite cliffs you can see the Isles of Scilly and, beyond that, the Atlantic Ocean and North America. Cycle back via Penzance and stop off to explore the stunning St Michael’s Mount – an incredible island connected by a causeway which juts into the sea. Return to St Ives in the evening for dinner in town, with options from a traditional Cornish pasty on the beach to dining in the Porthminster café – one of the best seafood restaurants in town! For those wishing for a shorter day, we have a beautiful coast to coast route which loops around to St Michael’s Mount and Penzance, giving plenty of time to explore both of these wonderful places.

Bike from St Ives out of town and towards Padstow, with the option of a transfer to Truro if required, to shorten the journey.
