This tour encompasses the whole of the Cotswolds as well as visiting some incredible iconic locations and World Heritage Sites, you would not normally get to visit on a ‘normal’ self-guided cycling holiday, including Churchill’s Blenheim Palace, Stonehenge, Bath and its Roman Baths – all World Heritage Sites, touring the famous university town of Oxford and the Royal Palace of Windsor Castle.
Return to nature, escape the crowds and immerse yourself in the history and heritage of the English countryside by cycling on your own, as a couple or bringing your group of friends with you for a week on two wheels.
We take all the hassle out of cycling by including all luggage transfers, booking and organising all accommodation, maps, Ride With GPS instructions, and recommending incredible iconic palaces, castles, estates, ancient sites and more to visit along the way.
We collect you at 8.30 from London at Paddington Station, Platform 1, under the clock and take you by bus to Windsor, about 1 hours’ drive. We visit Windsor Castle, home to the Queen, and Windsor Great Park, where we will fit you with your bikes and ensure you are ready to cycle on a tour of the historic deer park. Taking our support vehicle to your hotel in Moreton-in-Marsh in the North Cotswolds means a nice, gentle start to your holiday.

This is a day dedicated to the Cotswolds towns and villages! Wind your way through the majestic countryside of the Cotswolds, taking in some of the most well-known towns and villages including Chipping Campden, and onto the majestic Broadway Tower, a folly with views across to Wales! Journey to visit the stunning Hidcote Gardens, renowned for its series of ‘outdoor rooms’, returning to Moreton in Marsh in the evening.

Cycle out from the hotel through the beautiful Cotswolds to World Heritage Site of Blenheim Palace, where Winston Churchill was born. The morning’s ride is around 20 miles through rolling countryside. At Blenheim guests can eat lunch over-looking the Capability Brown parklands with ample time to explore the historical palace and walk through some of the 2000 acre estate. The ride continues to your hotel in Burford in the evening. Instead of an afternoon ride, self guided guests are welcome to join our guided group, for a small charge, as we travel into Oxford in the evening for a walk through the historic university town and a dinner out in the city.
Mileage: 20 miles
Ride from Burford towards the stunning White Horse Hill to see the beautiful ancient carving atop the Ridgeway. Cycle to lunch in the White Horse pub in Woolstone. After lunch, self-guided guests are again welcome to travel on with our guided group to Avebury, a village completely surrounded by 5000 year old huge stones, and on to Stonehenge to complete our Neolithic Day. There is the option to finish at lunchtime for a relaxing afternoon in Bath.
Mileage: 25 miles
Cycle in the morning around the wonderful canals of Bath, along tow paths towards Bradford on Avon then bike, then head out of the Avon Valley to the National Trust village of Lacock, the backdrop for numerous period dramas as well al Harry Potter and Downton Abbey. In the afternoon we loop back into Bath where you can visit the incredible Roman Baths and walk up to the Royal Crescent overlooking the city. Stay overnight once more in Bath, known for its restaurants, bars, culture and arts!

After a leisurely breakfast we help all guests with their ongoing travel arrangements. Regular direct trains depart from Bath Spa station into London and other mainline stations.

It is known for its breathtaking natural beauty, its rolling hills and its historic towns and villages, built from the golden Cotswold stone.
With exceptionally well-planned routes, our self-guided tours are designed to suit the independent traveler or groups of travelers; those who wish to travel at their own pace and speed. With Ride With GPS and maps, we detail all of the points of interests, lunch stops, cafes – and of course pubs! Cycle at your leisure, safe in the knowledge that a support team and emergency support vehicle is always on standby.

Yes! We plan the routes and stops, providing you with Ride with GPS so you follow every turn, and we can adapt routes – you choose how far you challenge yourself! We book accommodation and your luggage will be waiting for you at each hotel, and there is an emergency support vehicle ready if needed! It is a great way to have a hassle free cycle holiday. The Cotswolds are a beautiful area to explore, with quiet country lanes, rolling hills and open countryside, safe in the knowledge that you are never too far from the next village! We offer road, hybrid or electric bikes, as well as helmets and other equipment, so all you need to bring are clothes you can cycle in, and enthusiasm!
