Our 7-day, 6-night tour is perfect for the active traveler, combining the South West’s bustling vibrant cities, stunning historical sites, rivers and trails that lend themselves to exciting activities including cycling, punting, canoeing, walking, paddle-boarding, swimming, golf, pubs and more!
Guests can relax and watch the world go by as we visit the best of the South West including Oxford, the River Thames, Truro, St Ives, Sailsbury and two stunning World Heritage Sites: Bath and Stonehenge. Guests will also be able to sample gastronomic delights, wonderful restaurants, real ales, and England’s best pub crawl in Oxford.
Guests meet and board the Night Riviera Sleeper Train at London Paddington, which is equipped with its own cocktail bar for the journey down to the stunning Cornish city of Truro.
From Truro, in the heart of Cornwall, we drop the bags at the hotel, the wonderful Alverton and set the cyclists up on their bikes, ready to head out into the stunning Cornish countryside and the disused railway lines of the Mineral Tramways, which take us all the way to the sea at Portreath.
The walkers head for the coast and both groups converge on the Cornish jewel, St Ives, famous for its amazing light which has drawn artists for centuries. We visit the new Tate Modern museum and have lunch in one of the stunning cafes on the seafront. After lunch guests often surf, swim or simply soak up the atmosphere of the stunning town before returning to Truro in the evening.

We transfer the 30 minutes to Bodmin where we join the magnificent Camel Trail, a 20-mile downhill ride or 5 mile walk into the foody heaven and quaint town of Padstow for lunch at the famous Rick Stein’s Seafood Resturant, one of England’s finest. After a late afternoon swim or surf we return to the Alverton Hotel for the evening and a good look around the vibrant city of Truro.

We jump in the support vehicle from Bath to the eternal mystery that is Stonehenge. Guests have time to marvel at how these massive, 50 tonne stones were moved and put into position, thousands of years ago and try to grasp why the stones were there in the first place!
We then transfer to the city of Oxford and time for some R+R and an evening stroll through the city’s beautiful streets, sampling some of the most atmospheric pubs we know and then staying in a converted prison, in the cells at the stunning Malmaison hotel!

We take a walk into the stunning city of Oxford in the morning visiting the colleges, museums, the Harry Potter and Alice in Wonderland locations and soaking up its unique atmosphere, then we head off on a punting expedition on the river.
