After the train journey from London Paddington to Moreton-in-Marsh (a 1.5 hour train journey) we’ll fit you up with your bikes and head straight into the Cotswolds. Our first Cotswold towns and villages are the iconic Chipping Campden and the beautiful American inspired gardens at Hidcote. We then have lunch in the best pub in England (Sunday Times) before heading back to the hotel in the afternoon.
For those who want to bike further we head for Stratford and ride down a disused railway line into the heart of the city itself. You’ll have the chance to learn about the life of Shakespeare, England’s greatest bard. The tour then returns to the market town of Moreton-in-Marsh for the evening. If you would like to see an evening play at the Royal Shakespeare Company we can organise this for you (bookings need to be made in advance).
Mileage: 22-38 miles
The tour then winds its way through the picturesque countryside of the Cotswolds, taking in some of the most well-known towns and villages. We meander along country lanes, stopping in Bourton-on-the-Water, The Slaughters, and the majestic Broadway Tower. We return to Moreton-in-Marsh for the evening.
Mileage: 20-33 miles
We cycle from Moreton-in-Marsh through the beautiful Cotswolds to Blenheim Palace, a World Heritage Site and the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. The morning is a beautiful ride through gently rolling countryside and right into the estate itself. On arrival at Blenheim we provide guests with a sumptuous picnic over-looking the Capability Brown inspired gardens and give you ample time to explore the historical house and gardens. The afternoon ride takes us to the stunning Burford, the Gateway to the Cotswolds.
Mileage: 23- 38 miles
We head through the Cotswolds to the beautiful Cotswold town of Bampton, home to the hit TV show Downton Abbey (it is the village where all the outside filming is shot). We take guests to Oxford for a tour around the historical university town, including famous Harry Potter locations and the colleges themselves. The tour returns to Burford for the evening.
Mileage: 16- 32
We cycle out in the morning towards the incredible views from White Horse Hill along the Neolithic Ridgeway. Our biking ends at lunch in the White Horse pub in Woolstone. After lunch we transport guests to a mainline station or back to Oxford by mid-afternoon.
Mileage: 15-25 miles
