The tour starts at Exeter Railway Station, which is a two hour direct train from London Paddington. We jump on the bus to take us to an old railway station, home to the old steam train Puffing Billy. We walk along the Tarka trail, into the heart of Devon through the stunning surrounding countryside. Accommodation for the night is in the beautiful village of Hatherleigh and the famous George.

We walk along Devon’s coastal trail from Croyde Beach to the famous Woolacombe beach, and around ‘Baggy Point’ headland. This stunning walk is a true gem of Devon and is consistently voted the most beautiful Active England walk! There is an optional visit to the quirky seaside town of Illfracombe, and curry on the beach in the sun for dinner too! We again stay again at the George in Hatherleigh.

We head off on Granite Trail, with spectacular views of Dartmoor alongside a stunning reservoir and aqueduct towards the town of Lydford. The afternoon sees us head into Cornwall to St Agnes. There is the option of an afternoon walk along this beautiful section of rugged Cornish coast, made famous by Poldark. We stay in the stunning Rose in Vale hotel.

In the morning we jump in the bus and travel 45 minutes to the intricate tramways of Cornwall’s tin mines past the country town of Truro and onto the jewel of Cornwall that is St Ives. Best known for it’s spectacular light and as a haven for painters over the last few hundred years, and now home the Tate Modern, St Ives is truly magnificent. We lunch at one of the wonderful seafood cafes and have plenty of time to walk around the town before returning to the Rose Vale hotel for the evening.

We walk along the magnificent Camel Trail into the foody heaven and quaint town of Padstow on the Cornish coast, for lunch at the famous Rick Stein’s fish and chip shop. After catching the ferry over the Camel to Rock we will visit the archetypal Cornish villages of Port Issac and Boscastle before heading back to and our accommodation for the night.

We transfer the few miles to the King Arthur inspired Tintagel, with its castle perched on the dramatic cliffs for nome not to be missed walking along the Cornish coast. The legend of King Arthur and Merlin’s Cave is strong and the walk across the bridge and onto the castle is awe-inspiring. We then transport guests to Bodmin Parkway station for pre-booked travel all the way to London (4.5 hours).

Walk as much or as little as you like as there are options to suit all ages and abilities. Every day guest will be able to shorten the walk if required ensuring guests only need to walk the miles that suit them.
