How about exploring London on foot or by bike?

Whether this is your fifth visit to London or first, our guides will show you the magic on and off the tourist trail. There is something for everyone to enjoy and before travelling out to The Cotswolds, Cornwall or Lake District on one of our tours, why not top or tail your English holiday by spending two or three days exploring the capital? It is full of history, culture and art, and there is no better way to explore than by bike or on foot!

We have created this gentle active tour package of London: we will take you along the backroads, the alleyways, past ancient pubs, and designer stores, trialling the coffee and cake scene, while soaking up the iconic sites of the Tower of London, Borough Market, Tate Modern, Churchill War Rooms and the Palace of Westminster.

    Your London Tour Itinerary

    Day 1 Arrive in London

Upon arrival in London, you will be picked up by your chauffeur and driven to your hotel (either 4* or 5* options) including The London Edition in Fitzrovia. You will have the rest of the day to get situated, and your guide will be on site to take a stroll with you down to Soho and Oxford Street to explore the shops, or enjoy a leisurely afternoon at Regent’s or Hyde Park. We will make dinner reservations for you this evening and for the remainder of your trip.

Day 2Bike through the heart of London along the back lanes, alleyways and River Thames

Today you will enjoy biking the quiet back lanes and alleyways through the heart of London, and along the Thames before crossing the river in the City of London at the Tower of London. You will then make your way back along the river on the south side. Old Southwark, traditionally known as ‘The Borough’, was a market town from early Saxon times and a haven for criminals and prostitutes in the Middle Ages. Eventually, it was also the site of Shakespeare’s famous Globe Theatre. You will be visiting the Tate Modern, which houses one of the largest contemporary art collections in the world, before continuing along the Thames by Shakespeare’s Globe, and stopping for lunch at the famous Borough Market – one of the oldest markets in London!

In the afternoon we will slowly bike back towards the hotel. Late afternoon and early evening is yours to explore at your leisure.

Day 3A morning bike ride to Westminster

Today your guide will accompany you on a morning jaunt or bike ride to Westminster to visit some of the city’s most famous sites including: Westminster Abbey, the 1000-year-old Gothic church used for coronations and royal weddings; the Palace of Westminster, where the Houses of Parliament meet; the Churchill War Rooms, a secret, subterranean base used by the Prime Minister during WWII; and Buckingham Palace, the London residence and administrative headquarters of the monarchy.

You will have free time this afternoon to do some more exploring on your own. If you’d like to spend an evening at the theatre, we would be happy to arrange tickets on your behalf. Top off your perfect day with a fancy cocktail, excellent wine or locally brewed beer at a top London pub or bar.

Day 4Ongoing travel to the Cotswolds, Cornwall or Lake District

After check-out, your guide will either drop you off at the airport/train station or drive you to your next destination. Follow us into the Cotswolds, down to Cornwall or to the Lake District to see some of the most treasured areas of our beautiful country. Check out our luxury walking and biking trips.

From London, the Cotswolds is 1 hour 10 minutes on the train or a 2 hour drive.
