Join our adventure holiday and meet like-minded active people who embrace their weekends away and want to get stuck into some great activities. You’ll return with a glow having made the most of your long weekend, full of days outdoors in the fresh air, evenings by the fire pit with home-cooked food and a great group around you!
Don’t feel obliged to do all of these activities, if you fancy an afternoon off to stroll along the wonderful valley and lakes or simply read your book in the sun – that fits in well with our itinerary too.
If you would like to be more active than the itinerary says then no problem, we would be happy to show you some longer and tougher routes – it would be our pleasure. Our guides can add more mileage and steeper inclines for those wishing to stretch their legs on this adventure weekend away!
Return to Nature for a Weekend in the Lake District
With early morning walks, canyoning, SUP, canoeing, scrambling, climbing and cycling throughout, you’ll have a full and invigorating day – every day. Our base is in the West of the Lake District, along the road less travelled and in some of the most stunning landscapes we know. Your adventure is led by our outstanding team of guides who know every fell, tarn and walking route (for all abilities). We know the best way to scale Scafell Pike in the early morning, the best lakes to canoe or SUP and the best pubs to put your feet up at the end of the day.
We’ll get you from the train (or however you want to travel) to the base for the weekend, providing all the equipment you will need; just bring yourself, some active wear and some swim kit, and you’ll be ready to go!

Lake District Multi Activity Itinerary
Day 1Arrival into Oxenholme
Arrive either to the railway station at Oxenholme, where we will transfer you, or travel directly to our base in the Western Lake District. There is the option to bike to base – but it’s not for the faint hearted! Most people head straight out into the fells for a quick hike before our first night’s dinner in one of the many great local pubs.
Day 2Wast Water Lake Paddling, Scrambling and Firepits
After breakfast it’s a brisk walk to Wast Water, the deepest lake in England where we will SUP, canoe or kayak, with stunning surroundings in the lee of Scafell Pike, England’s highest mountain. After a packed lunch we continue with the watery theme with a spot of Ghyll Scrambling – essentially jumping in and out of the Esk Gorge as it winds itself off the high Fells. We return in the late afternoon for a night around the fire pit with a BBQ and a chance to break into our free beer and wine fridge.
Day 3Scafell Pike
The big one, a chance to climb England’s highest mountain, Scafell Pike, which is ‘only’ 3 miles (as the crow flies!) from our base. It’s a long and exhilarating walk and there are many other alternatives, should guests not want to exert themselves. There are also a choice of additional activities including mountain biking and canoeing on the Esk river. In the evening we celebrate a wonderful final evening in one of the best pubs known to man!
Day 4Morning Walk and Farewells
In the morning we offer an optional walk down the Langdale Valley or into Windermere where we transfer guests Oxenholme station for the opportunity to nap on the train home after a truly memorable weekend.
