Discover the joys of sea swimming, estuary swooshing, hidden beaches and coves, sea pools and lidos on our exploration of swimming in the wonderful Cornish sea air. We have created the perfect balance of exploration and relaxation, immersing guests in some of the most iconic swims in some of the most remote places in the Duchy.
The tour is fuelled by Cornish Cream Teas, wonderful seafood, pasties and great company!
All our South Cornwall swimming holidays are open to all types of swimmers – the “dippers”, the head up breaststrokers and the 10k warriors, with options for all, every day.
Our qualified and safety conscious guides ensure there is enough swimming and variety of swims, for all levels of swimmer (we suggest swimmers can swim 400m as a minimum).
There is nothing more reviving and refreshing than swimming and dipping in the hidden swimming spots, coves and beaches of the Cornish Coast and with two or more swims planned each day we’ll take you on a journey through Cornwall like no other – joining together the hidden beaches of East Cornwall (near Fowey), The Roseland Peninsula and the Lizard. With some walking on the South West Coastal path thrown in, it will be a magical journey that you’ll remember for a long time.
Arriving into Lostwithiel Railway Station for 1pm, we’ll meet you at the station and set off on a to Fowey and our first swim at Ready Money Cove, a sandy and sheltered cove with stunning views across the estuary. We’ll then walk the South West Coastal Path to the stunning and hidden Polridmouth before getting to know your group over a group dinner in the evening – the perfect start to this swimming holiday!
Taking the ferry across from Fowey to Polruan we begin our morning walk along the stunning South Cornwall coast to dip and dive into Lantic Bay, Lanivet Bay and/or Lansallos Bay, depending on how long we linger and how much walking we want to do! We’ll set up a picnic on the beach for you to enjoy as you take a well-earned break mid-day. In the afternoon we loop back towards Bodinnick Ferry and head back to Fowey where there is the option for some SUP or kayaking. Staying near Fowey again means more time on your feet and in the water.
We take a short transfer to Goran Haven and begin our beautiful coastal walk from Goran Haven – the perfect swim spot if you fancy an early dip – and into the pretty harbour town of Mevagissey. Along the way we stop off for a sea swim at the inaccessible (by car) Colona beach. Lunching at a brilliant lobster-focused restaurant – The Kings Arms – in Mevagissey, enjoy the fresh catch and the bustle of this little fishing village. After lunch we swim at Portmellon and then a short transfer to Fowey in the afternoon allows for some free time to explore the local area.
After a short transfer to Par Beach we wade out for a gorgeous morning swim along the coast, though turquoise water and into Polkerris Beach. There will be plenty of time to relax and enjoy lunch in a seaside café before we head to St Austell for farewells and ongoing travel.
