The Thames Source to Sea Itinerary
Day 1The Source of the Thames, Paddling, and a Firepit Dinner Under the Stars
Arriving into Kemble station for 11am, we head out walking through fields and woodland to discover the source of the Thames and enjoy a picnic lunch in the heart of the Cotswolds. Sometimes the ‘source’ runs dry and springs up elsewhere – so it will be an adventure to find it! Hopping onto bikes we cycle down to the Cotswolds waterparks for an afternoon of paddle sports, in particular stand up paddle-boarding, on the lake. We stay in fantastic shepherd’s huts in the centre of an outdoor sculpture park and enjoy a BBQ dinner here as our first night’s group dinner. Sitting by the fire and sharing stories with a free beer and wine fridge, it is the perfect time to relax after your first day of exploration and outdoors adventure.
Day 2Sunrise Swimming, Cotswolds Cycling and Paddling
Early risers can enjoy a refreshing sunrise swim at next door lake, returning to breakfast at the sculpture park. We cycle in the morning down winding country lanes to The Plough, a beautiful Cotswolds pub in Kelmscott, on the riverside. We hop onto the water here and paddle down the lazy river to two more riverside pubs – perfect for an early evening beer and dinner. Enjoy a second night of glamping on the side of the river, settling into another night under the stars with an added touch of luxury.
Day 3Paddling into Oxford, Punting to the Pub and a Walking Tour of the City
We travel on the river, paddling all the way into Oxford in the morning – the best way to arrive in the city, in time for lunch in town. In the afternoon you can enjoy a punting trip through Oxford, so sit back and enjoy the city floating past you on the way to the pub (and back!). There is also the option for a walking tour of this city of dreaming spires to see its highlights, before heading to dinner and our hotel for the evening.

From here we head out on the water to paddle down the Thames into Goring. Lunching in this pretty riverside town we head out on a beautiful walk along the Thames Path National Trail towards Reading and Mapledurham. We stay in Henley on Thames, dining in the town this evening.
