This tour will lead you through the stunning Cotswold countryside, walking right up to the front steps of the spectacular and historic English locations we go to. The Cotswold hills are perfect walking country, taking winding lanes and national footpaths, you will feel transported back into England as it was before mechanisation, where sheep and dry-stone walling were the biggest industries. Relax and enjoy walking from Palace to country pubs, unique gardens, along the rivers and more.
Our walking holidays are designed to be completely relaxing. We pick up guests from Moreton-in-Marsh, a direct 90 minute journey from London Paddington and take you straight into the countryside, away from the crowds and into the stunning Cotswolds for a walking tour to remember. Walk as much or as little as you like each day, our guides can tailor your tour to your preferences, with shorter or longer routes available daily.
We collect you from Moreton in Marsh train station, a 90 minute direct journey from London Paddington, and take you straight out into the Cotswolds to begin walking. In the morning we walk from golden-stoned Chipping Campden through the fields to the stunning gardens at Hidcote, renowned for its series of ‘outdoor rooms’. We visit Broadway Tower overlooking the northernmost extreme of the Cotswolds, and, on a clear day, with views all the way to Wales, before walking into Broadway town itself, one of the prettiest villages the Cotswolds has to offer.

We head out from the hotel through the beautiful Cotswolds to start our walk in Blenheim Palace, where Winston Churchill was born and a World Heritage Site. With 3000 acres of Capability parkland to explore, todays walk is a stunning wander around lakes, serpentine streams, woodland and into the Palace itself for a tour in the afternoon. In the early evening we return to Burford and your hotel in this pretty market town.
Mileage: 4-7 miles
We travel to Eynsham on the outskirts of Oxford and walk along the Thames, through the locks, into Port Meadow and past Godstow Abbey into the centre of town. This beautiful route is the best way into Oxford, along the winding river banks, past the wild ponies and the Oxford rowing huts. From here we’ll drop you off at Oxford station where our guides will help you with any ongoing travel arrangements.

This tour is rated 2/5 for difficulty meaning it’s appropriate for guests going for a good walk and can handle an incline or two. The terrain we cover is varied. We’ll enjoy some rolling hills, and a few steeper walks which will be a bit more demanding. Your holiday, however, will be tailored by your guide to suit your individual preferences and rewarding views are guaranteed! Daily distances range from 4-10 miles.
There is a direct 90 minute train from London Paddington to Moreton in Marsh. From here we’ll pick you up and take you straight out into the Cotswolds ourselves to ensure your journey is hassle free!
