This tour encompasses the whole of the Cotswolds as well as visiting some incredible iconic locations and World Heritage Sites, walking right up to the front steps of the spectacular and historic English locations we go to, including Churchill’s Blenheim Palace, Stonehenge – World Heritage Sites, tour the famous university town of Oxford, and take a walking tour of Bath, the World Heritage City, and its Roman Baths.
Join our small groups and return to nature by hiking through the Cotswolds. Escape the crowds and immerse yourself in the history and heritage of England as you walk through the stunning Cotswolds countryside, led by our outstanding local guides – we know every turn in the track, every café stop, panoramic view, and of course the best pubs in England!
Our walking holidays are designed to be completely relaxing. We pick up guests from Moreton in Marsh train station and head straight out into the stunning Cotswolds for a walking tour to remember. Walk as much or as little as you like each day, our guides can tailor your tour to your preferences, with shorter or longer routes available daily.
Our guides will meet you off the train at Moreton-in-Marsh Station, a direct 1.5 hour journey from Longon, at 9am in the morning. We take you straight out into the majestic Cotswolds to walk from Chipping Campden through the fields to the stunning gardens at Hidcote, renowned for its series of ‘outdoor rooms’. We visit Broadway Tower overlooking the northernmost extreme of the Cotswolds, before walking into Broadway town itself, one of the prettiest villages the Cotswolds has to offer. We return to Moreton in Marsh, and your hotel, in the evening.
Mileage: 5-8 miles
We head out from the hotel through the beautiful Cotswolds to start our walk in Blenheim Palace, where Winston Churchill was born and a World Heritage Site. With 2000 acres of Capability parkland to explore, todays’ walk is a stunning wander around lakes, serpentine streams, woodland and into the Palace itself for a tour in the afternoon. We travel into Oxford in the evening for a walk through the historical university town and a dinner out in the city. Our hotel for the night is in the wonderful Cotswold town of Burford.
Mileage: 4-7 miles
We travel from Burford to the stunning White Horse Hill to see the beautiful ancient carving atop the Ridgeway. We walk to an ancient long barrow – the burial mound Wayland Smithy – and around to a Bronze Age Fort with views stretching across the Thames Valley. We travel on to Stonehenge to complete our Neolithic Day. There is the option to finish at lunchtime and head straight to our hotel for a relaxing afternoon in Bath.

In the morning we walk along the canals of Bath, down towpaths and beside the rivers that lead into this Roman city as well as the wonderful Bath Skyline walk. In the afternoon we visit the incredible Roman Baths and take a tour up to the Royal Crescent overlooking the city. We stay overnight once more in Bath, known for its restaurants, bars, culture and arts!

After a leisurely breakfast we help all guests with their ongoing travel arrangements. Regular direct trains depart from Bath Spa station into London and other mainline stations.
