Get stuck into an active week away with a like-minded group, enjoying sea swimming, surfing, SUPing (Stand Up Paddleboarding) on the Fowey Estuary with Paddle Cornwall SUP, coastal cycling, clifftop walks and coasteering. Spend your days outdoors and your evenings around the firepit, with homecooked food, a beer in hand, and a great group around you!
Rediscover nature away from the crowds and along the Cornish coast. Full, active days without the rush. Don’t feel obliged to do all of these activities, if you fancy an afternoon off to stroll along the beach or read your book in the sun – that fits in well with our Cornwall itinerary too.
If you would like to cycle more miles each day we would be happy to show you some faster ‘racing snake’ routes! Our guides can add more mileage and steeper inclines for those wishing to stretch their legs on this adventure week away!
Easy train journeys from London, Bristol or the Midlands, take you to the start of your trip. Immerse yourself in wonderful Cornish countryside, with a wide range of activities, relax in the evenings with our free beer and wine fridge and in some of the best pubs known to man! We’ll start your holiday straight from the train station so just bring yourself, some active wear and a sense of adventure and we’ll cover everything else.
Led by our outstanding guides, and using all our equipment, we know every bend in the road, river or track, every cafe stop, local pub and vineyard to suit all tastes! You’ll not need to worry about any of your luggage transfers, bookings or equipment as it will all have been taken care of for you.
Wave goodbye to the city (or wherever you’re catching the train from) as you catch the midday train from London Paddington down into Cornwall. You’ll meet your guides and group at Bodmin Parkway and get to know them on a relaxed cycle right direct from the station! We’ll take care of all your luggage, and get you set up on our bikes so that we can cycle into the countryside straight away. The full ride takes us directly to our accommodation on the Fowey Estuary, the gorgeous seaside town. We eat out in the best pub in town, getting to know our group over some delicious fresh sea-food tapas in the harbour. On this trip we stay in glorious ‘glamping’ cabins, pods and tents on the coast. These fully kitted out log cabins are a wonderful mix of outdoor living and indoor comforts.
Start your day with a splash in the sea as we take our sea kayaks out to discover the South Coast’s cliffs, bays and estuaries. Paddle to your hearts content all morning before heading back to land for lunch. We hike along the South West Coast Path, part of a gorgeous 630 mile national trail and then have the rest of the afternoon on the beach with plenty of opportunities to relax and an early evening pint in the local. Dinner is with our hosts and is a BBQ / Paella with the evening spent sharing stories around the fire pit, for a proper ‘Fire pit Friday’! Grab yourself a free beer, put your feet up and relax with your group as the sun fades and the stars come out.
We start the day, after breakfast with a SUP session on the Fowey Estuary and the sea itself, depending on the tide times, before a lunch and then an afternoon swim in one of the many secluded bays, inaccessible to all – unless you know how and when to access them. We head back to the accommodation for some late afternoon R&R before heading into Fowey for a fish and chip supper.
We bike out through Bodmin and onto the world famous Camel Trail, which takes us all the way into the stunning foody heaven of Padstow. After lunch we bike out to Harlyn Bay for a swim or a surf, before heading to our new accommodation on the Camel Esturary where we have our second fire pit dinner of the week – a social evening around the fire, with free beer-fridge included!
We head out for a morning walk from Padstow along the estuary to the stunning cliffs and around Stepper Point to Harlyn Bay. Lunch is in the cute beach café before we have the option of some coasteering in the afternoon. Under the guidance of our instructors, we traverse the coast, climb the cliffs, jump into the sea, and swim into coves for an energy afternoon. There is the option to surf in the afternoon instead, with an instructor or to break out into the waves your own if you are more advanced! We walk into Padstow for dinner, normally in the London Inn with the best beers we know for our final night celebration.
After breakfast we head out on a leisurely bike ride from Padstow along the Camel trail with its stunning estuary views. We cycle right up to lunch and Bodmin station to catch the 1pm train back to London and elsewhere. Our guides will help you with all your ongoing travel arrangements and send you off with a glow from your week of adventure!
