Harry and Meghan’s Cotswold Home

A Cotswolds Home for Harry and Meghan

We all know the charm of quaint Cotswold villages, cobbled streets and dry-stone walls. An area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Cotswolds has a place in the popular imagination as the ultimate destination for relaxed luxury travel, but also as the ideal place to settle and raise a family. Away form the hustle and bustle of the big cities, and into the ‘chocolate box’ England of rolling hills, many celebrities choose the Cotswolds to holiday and retire to.

Cotswold Celebrities

Though I’ve yet to bump into David Beckham, Jeremy Clarkson is often seen driving from his Cotswold home in one of his many classic sports cars, and my my brother’s claim to fame is going to school with the son of the flamboyant interior designer Laurence Llewelyn Bowen. I have even wandered past the queen’s granddaughter in my home town of Cheltenham – Zara Phillips – and her husband Mike Tyndall (former England rugby star), who have made the Cotswolds their home for years.

But I wonder if I will ever bump into the most famous of all royal couples this year – Harry and Meghan (though if I do meet them, I will be sure to address them with a curtsey as His and Her Royal Highness’, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex… if I can remember to say it all in the right order). They moved to the Cotswolds, reportedly to a £2.5 million property near Chipping Norton just before their wedding in May last year, though with all their royal engagements they haven’t been seen out and about too much yet.

Reports abound of their A-list friends dropping by including George and Amal Clooney as well as Serena Williams and her husband Alexis Ohanian. Who knows, I cycle past Chipping Norton almost weekly during the summer on our tours, perhaps we’ll ride past and give them a wave!

Though we cannot promise a royal appearance, our tours give guests an insight into the real England, travelling through the charming Cotswolds by bike and on foot. We guide you down stunning country lanes, through the countryside and visit all of the Cotswold’s famous iconic sites including Blenheim Palace, Shakespeare’s Stratford, Oxford, Bath and many more!
